For our October installment of ‘Getting Visual,’ the Millcreek Arts Council is proud to
share this month’s exhibition and reception at the Millcreek Common Market at 1330 E
Chambers Ave. (in lieu of our usual space at the Millcreek Library Branch undergoing
renovations) with art by Suzy Barton and music by Zac Parish. The reception is October
4 from 6-7 PM. The art will remain on the main floor of the Millcreek Common Market
through the month of October.
Even as a child, Suzy Barton was interested in the creative process. She attended the University of Utah where she received her BFA and MA. She majored in art, where as an undergraduate, she focused on sculpture and ceramics with a further interest in drawing and painting, graduating Suma Cum Laude. She received her MA in Art Therapy. She has shown her work in several galleries and has been accepted in many large art shows, including, Zions shows, Art and Soup, and Springville Salon. Following graduation she obtained her counseling license and worked in Counseling and Art Therapy in a number of settings, finally retiring from Valley Mental Health. Since retirement she has focused on improving her painting skills, taking many workshops, including three with Kathryn Stats, one of which was in Italy. She is honored to present her work in this lovely setting. You can reach her at: suzy.barton@gmail.com
Local fingerstyle guitarist/singer/songwriter Zac Parish has been obsessed with old
blues and other related stuff for a very long time. He has played many thousands of gigs
in Utah, around the USA, and in Europe
