Free Art Classes: The Open Art Series

Create Something Beautiful! Join Our Fused Glass Workshop on September 19th!

The Millcreek Arts Council is excited to introduce the Open Art Series, a new set of free pop-up art classes offered to the community three to four times throughout the year. Designed to be welcoming and accessible, each one-day class invites participants to explore creativity, learn new techniques, and connect through art. Art belongs to everyone.

Fused Glass Workshop on September 19th, 2026

Join the Glass Art Guild of Utah and Millcreek Arts Council for a creative, hands-on experience as you design and assemble your very own fused glass sun catcher. Using colorful glass and your own imagination, you’ll create a one-of-a-kind piece that will be kiln-fired to bring your design to life.

All tools, materials, and instruction are provided-just bring your creativity! Guided by skilled artists, you’ll learn essential fused glass techniques, gain hands-on experience, and pick up helpful tips and tricks along the way. We recommend that you wear closed-toe shoes.

Your finished sun catcher will be ready for pickup the following Saturday.

Saturday,  September 19.   
Duration 2 hours.  

  • 10AM- 12PM (kids 8-16 years old)
  • 1-3 PM (adults 17 and older)

Important details:

  • Open Arts Series classes are free. If you are accepted and do not attend without canceling, you may be restricted from future classes.
  • Ages 17+.
  • Each participant must create their own Eventeny account and complete their own registration form using a unique email address. This is a requirement of the Eventeny platform.
  • If you are unable to attend after registering, please return to Eventeny to cancel your registration so another participant may join.
  • Accepted participants will be notified by email. Please add Eventeny to your contact list to ensure you receive our notification.
  • Class will be held on the 1st floor of the Millcreek Common building, 1354 E Chambers Ave, Millcreek, UT 84106.
