Paul Boruff &  Lise Sorensen Brunhart will perform.  A reception will be held at the library from 6-6:45 PM on April 5th.  Please join us for light refreshments and musical accompaniment.

Julie Vesely created Altar Ego in 2014 as a supportive gathering place for those who wish to live more in alignment with beauty, inner wisdom, and joy! She is passionate about healing practices that inspire a deep sense of connection to the Earth, to Spirit, and to Others.

Earth Prayers began as Julie’s personal practice of mindfulness, creativity, and non-attachment. They’ve evolved into a way for her to share her love for the season’s changing colors, for symmetry and balance in design, and for the bounty and variety of nature’s sacred offerings.

Julie creates Earth Prayers from bits of nature collected on meditative walks here in the Mountain West. It is Julie’s way of grieving our earth’s peril while also celebrating her beauty.

She hope Earth Prayers will inspire connection and a desire to care for our Mother Earth.

Perhaps you will create your own Earth Prayers!

Paul Boruff learned to play guitar and sing under the tutelage of his father. While serving in the United States Navy Paul toured with the Admiral’s Band performing big band music throughout the United States. Following his honorable discharge, he studied music theory and opera at college in Arizona.

Paul’s music career has known no borders. As a soloist, he has performed nationally and internationally for audiences of all sizes. Under the name Paul Boruff With Dark Fiddle, Paul Boruff and Lise Sorensen bring a unique form of “Americana” combining Traditional , Original , Folk, Blues , Old West and Jazz influences.

Lise Sorensen Brunhart studied viola performance with Jenny Rudin of Palo Alto, California. In 1976, inspired to form a career combining visual arts with music, Lise came to Salt Lake City to study lutherie with Peter Paul Prier and Paul Hart at the Violin- Making School of America.

In the years following graduation and her marriage to Ulrich Brunhart, Lise’s career focus shifted to biology and biotechnology. Today she researches vascular biology and cellular mechanisms of inflammation and cancer at University of Utah’s Program in Molecular Medicine.

She performs in classical and eclectic ensembles on a viola of her own making. Lise and Paul Boruff began their musical journey with spontaneous improvisation at a benefit for Save Our Canyons in 2016. They have gone on to perform as the duo Que Faire, at various venues in the Salt Lake Area and beyond.
